A 95 point Shiraz for only $12.99 a bottle? I think I might have found your new favourite drop!
In my opinion, Norfolk Rise could be one of the best-kept wine secrets in Australia.
Tucked away in the Mount Benson region on South Australia’s Limestone Coast, Norfolk Rise’s philosophy is to create wines that showcase the unique characteristics of the region while delivering elegant structure and fruit driven complexity.
Since the vineyard was planted in 2002, the cool maritime climate influence has been instrumental in producing wines of exceptional quality, and the Norfolk Rise Mount Benson Shiraz 2017
is a prime example. The vibrant nose displays aromas of soft florals, pepper, liquorice and spice. On the palate, juicy bright red fleshed fruits, black pepper, vanilla and cocoa are supported by smooth tannins.
James Halliday was a fan too, recently awarding this vintage 95 points and describing this wine as “totally enjoyable punching well above its weight”. Consistency is key to Norfolk Rise’s success, the last vintage of this wine scored 97 points, also won a Trophy and Double Gold Medals at an international wine competition.
If you were to buy this direct from the winery you will be paying upwards of $20 a bottle. Today I can offer it to you for just $12.99/bottle in dozens. A fantastic Shiraz that over-delivers on value and quality. A winner of a wine at a bargain price.
