BAROSSA VALLEY, SA

Varietal: Shiraz
Current Vintage: 2013
Bottle Size: 750ml
Case Size: 6

TASTING NOTES:

Deep red in colour with complex aromas of dark plum, chocolate and mocha. Rich opulent fruit swarms the palate alongside velvety tannins. Soft, elegant and completely enchanting.

'For ease, I’ll spell the numerical element in the name, but it does appear as an ‘8’ on the label. So do the words ‘Limited Release’ though that can mean anything these days. From several parishes of the Barossa Valley, the fruit is assembled to bring layers to the wine. Or so the song goes.' 91 points, Gary Walsh - winefront.com.au
'Dark blood red, this shows just a little of the vintage warmth, with wet bricks, cooked plum and cocoa powder, the nose deep and rich. That coffeed, deep richness is classic too – it’s going to hook in lovers of the richer, heartier Barossa style in a heartbeat. Maybe a little-dried fruit on the finish, but it’s not hard or hot (if slightly tart). Lots of old-school Barossa charm here.' 92 points, Andrew Graham - ozwinereview.com
'It's hard to deny the appeal of this archetypal Barossa red - not shy in any shape or form. It's full-bodied, richly flavoured all roasted and toasted oak with a bridge of tannin and somewhat drying. But a long future ahead.' 91 points, James Halliday's Wine Companion.
