This Shiraz displays classic notes of plum jam, liquorice and rhubarb with subtle hints of vanilla on the nose. This works in harmony with layers of dark forest fruits and influence of mocha and spice on the palate that is derived from 16 months maturation in French oak. This embraces a finely structured palate and good balance of acid which combine with firm tannins that result in its rich full body structure. This intense alluring palate makes for a fantastic lingering finish.
The Adelaide Hills is arguably Australia’s most vibrant premier cool climate wine region and is well known around the world for its distinctive premium wines, viticulture and stunning scenery.
Amadio Family Vineyards is located between Kersbrook and Williamstown in the Adelaide Hills, approximately 1km North from the Barossa Valley. Kersbrook’s location (300m altitude; east-facing grey brown loam soils) makes it considerably warmer and drier than other areas in the region, therefore the low-vigour fruit ripens earlier, with much more tannin and lower acidity.
Enjoy this wine with good company, roasted red meats, hearty casseroles and fine cheeses.
