South Australia

Varietal: Shiraz
Current Vintage: 2012
Bottle Size: 750ml
Case Size: 12

Tasting Notes:

The wine displays sweet raspberries and blackberries complimented by a soft charry chocolate hit of oak that lingers, finishing full, round and lush.
Fire brick in colour with rich plums and cassis are observed on the nose along with a hint of white pepper and sweet cinnamon spice.
The rich berry fruits dominate the flavours with a subtle acidity cutting through the fruit sweetness. The tannin structure is firm and complimented by the oak giving a round balanced wine.

Wine made for the 2012 vintage was higher in quality with good rains and cool even ripening periods. Bunches and berry size were smaller than average which led to crops being down by 25%.

Wine Region:

South Australia is known as Australia's wine capital. Approximately 56 kms northeast of the city of Adelaide. Many of Australia's largest and most notable wineries are either headquartered or own extensive holdings here.

Food Pairing:

Beef short ribs.
