MORNINGTON PENINSULA

Varietal: Pinot Gris
Current Vintage: 2017
Bottle Size: 750ml
Case Size: 12

TASTING NOTES:

A richer, riper style of Gris, with spiced pear and oak notes on the nose, and a subtle lactic character. The palate is rich and textural, with a lovely creamy mouthfeel and hints of apricot biscotti. The finish is long and elegant. Definitely a food wine. Highly Recommended.

WINE REGION:

Mornington Peninsula is a cool, southerly region of elegant wine surrounded on three sides by stunning coastal waters and beaches. Just south of Melbourne, the Peninsula extends out into Bass Strait, flanked by the Port Phillip and Western Port Bays. Mornington Peninsula has a history of wine production dating back to the 1880s, with modern commercial viticulture growing significantly since the 1970s. The district is home to over 50 boutique wineries and 700 ha under vine. The region enjoys plentiful sunshine and coastal breezes. A long ripening season is one of the benefits of the cool maritime climate. There are a variety of sandy soils, duplex clays and fertile red volcanics in the district.

FOOD PAIRING:

A satisfyingly easy wine to have on it’s own but will partner well with fresh salads, seafood and white meat dishes.
