At the time of Tahbilk's very early beginnings in 1860, one of Tahbilk's founding fathers, John Pinney Bear, placed an advertisement in leading newspapers across Australia asking for 'One Million strong vine cuttings'. His advertisement was reasonably successful with Tahbilk receiving around 600,00 cuttings and by the end of 1860, 26 hectares of vines planted - including Shiraz.
Made by the good people at Tahbilk, who was James Halliday's 2016 Winery of the Year this surprisingly serious sparkling has crisp green apple flavours and a dry finish.
Located in Victoria, approximately 90 kilometres east of Melbourne. The area's relatively cool climate makes it particularly suited to the production of high-quality Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Sparkling and more equated with a Burgundy style climate.
A brilliantly versatile sparkling, exceptional as an aperitif or starter. It is delicious served with a seafood or Thai stirfry and is superb with fresh fruit and dessert at the end of a meal.
