Tasting Notes:

It’s not every day that Rosé is made handpicked fruit from 60 year old dry grown bush vines. It’s fairly dry but comes over lush thanks to its viscous mouthfeel. Lots of strawberries and cherries and rose petals here nestled into a gorgeous texture.

Founded by Masters of Wine Willunga, 100 wines have been made by industry legends Stephen Pannell, Tim James and former maker of Penfold’s Grange, Mike Farmilo. Willunga 100 make exceptional value for money wines and are specialists in Grenache.

Wine Region:

The majority of the Shiraz comes from the Azzolino vineyard which consists of 30 year old vines grown on heavier dark clay soils. The climate of McLaren Vale is often compared to that of the Mediterranean, warm sunny days, with sea breeze influences from the nearby Gulf of St Vincent. These warm days in union with the cooling maritime evening changes are perfect for ripening the grapes whilst maintaining a crisp, clean acid structure.

Food Pairing:

A great match for an antipasto platter.
